Description
This is a project of digitization and computerization of burial records of different cemeteries in West Bengal, India dating back to the 1700s and encompasses data of historical and genealogical importance. A very useful purpose of this exercise is to enable users around the globe to search and find access of graves of their ancestors at the click of the mouse and enable them to locate the graves and offer tributes to their ancestors. We can search for graves through different options like first / last name, plot no, grave locations etc and also through grave numbers. This project is probably the first of its kind not only in India but in the entire world. The project also serves as a very useful medium of preservation of data from physical records into electronic form.
What do we deliver
Data of burials of ancestors and prominent personalities including location and position of graves. e-commerce facility and gateway for providing facility of offering floral tribute to ancestors at the graves . Maintenance of graves through masonry workers etc.
Why is the project unique?
The project and its idea is being developed first time in India and probably for the first time in the entire world.
Roadmap
Digital Content Development and ICT are the technologies of today. These should be implemented to make consumers and users more interactive and vibrant. Since it is a dynamic approach it is easier for being used as a medium for implementations of ideas and thought process in all major spheres . This should definitely make a positive impact on society and development as it inculcates more involvement of the mind and its intuitions. Greater usage of ICT technology through cheap availability of hardware and softwares shall make the programme a huge success specially with more cheaper usage of technology like the internet.
