Kerala State has one of the largest central ration card databases consisting of 69 lakhs ration cards. The central data is synchronized with the individual databases of all the 69 Taluk Supply Offices/City Rationing Offices in the State. E-Services for Ration Cards is one of the most important citizen centric project of the Government of Kerala. The service enables citizens to submit online, applications related to ration cards. Verification of ration cards can be made online using this service. The web site of the e-services portal is http://civilsupplieskerala.gov.in

 What we deliver

The content delivery service will provide the facilities for applying the applications online. There is an option for delivering the ration card through speed post which wil be enabled very soon. The status of the application will also be available online. SMS alerts are delivered to the citizens when the processing of the applications are completed. The verification of the ration card by user department enables them verify the ration card submitted by citizen.

 Whom we deliver

Civil Supplies officials and Akshaya center staff have been trained to use the system. Citizens were given the guidelines for using the site through newspaper media. The officials were trained on processing the applications accepted on-line and also to use the ration card management system a workflow system for processing the applications. E-Learning sessions and training sessions were conducted for training the officials.

 Why is the project unique?

Kerala State has one of the largest central rationcard database consisting of 69 lakhs ration cards and around 3 crore members. The central data is synchronized with the individual databases of all the 69 Taluk Supply Offices/City Rationing Offices in the State. E-Services for Ration Card is one of the most important citizen centric project of the Government of Kerala. The verification of authenticity of the ration card was a major challenge and using the e-verification service module the ration cards could be verified within seconds by authorized users.

Roadmap

The project has created and maintains the central database of the entire citizen in the state which is a very valuable digital content. Various departments and agencies can verify the authenticity of the ration cards. The digital content can be used for various socio economic analyses.
