Description

A mobile-&-web portal for non-profits (and government agencies) to monitor their projects in the field and share localised-data with their donors, partners and beneficiaries, using mobile technology.

What we deliver

– Mobile-Web Platform for data-collection, sharing, monitoring and analysis – Open/shared content of various NGO projects across the world – Forums/social media marketing for NGOs to promote their projects and raise money from potential donors

Whom we deliver

Non-Profits use it for monitoring their programs in the field. E.g. Pratham Education Initiative / ASER is using it for their projects in Patna, Hyderabad and Mysore Academic / Social Research Organizations use it for carrying out surveys and field-based research. E.g. The Jameel Abdul Poverty Action Lab, South Asia (JPAL, MIT-USA) is using Fieldata.org for baseline survey work for a maternal literacy project in Rajasthan & Bihar Government agencies can use Fieldata for openly sharing program/project information of their services/schemes. The Dept. of Education, Govt. of Ghana with its partner Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA, Yale-USA) is using Fieldata.org for tracking their community-teachers project.

How is the project unique?

So far, there is no common platform for NGOs to collect and share data. While the technology is not unique, the combination of purposes donor NGO, NGO NGO collaboration, and social-research agency NGO evaluation is unique. Fieldata also is unique because it can offer free services and charge for some services, making it openly accessible and sustainable.

Roadmap

Long term vision of our project is to be the primary platform for data collection and sharing among various organizations in the social sector. It will allow such organizations to monitor effectiveness of their various programs. Having data available for all their stakeholders will also make such organizations more transparent. We also hope that in longer run data sharing will possibly reduce duplication of efforts and hence bring costs down for such organizations.
