Ideawicket is India’s first Open Innovation Portal in the private sector. It seeks to connect innovators with innovation seekers. The Ideawicket innovator community is 10,000 strong and hails from top engineering and science programs in India. It includes scientists, designers, academia, entrepreneur innovators and small companies. Ideawicket helps in finding solutions for innovation challenges such as – 1. Design challenge 2. R&D challenge 3. Ideation challenge 4. Methods to improve existing products and processes 5. Call for lower cost substitutes or techniques 6. Call for Joint development and collaboration interests

Why is the project unique?
Ideawicket is India’s first Open Innovation Intermediary. Globally, while there are a few other players like Innocentive and Yet2.com Ideawicket is unique in that innovators are free to showcase their projects and ideas.
Roadmap
Ideawicket’s goal is to work with more and more non-profits going forward so that the innovator base can be tapped to find solutions for social problems. Some of the areas we wish to focus on are Renewable Energy, Adulteration, drinking and potable water issues, health and hygiene.
