Jade Magnet is India largest crowd sourcing platform for advertising and marketing creative solutions. Jade Magnet was established in October 2009 and has served a little over 400 small and medium businesses till date. We are doing a sales run-rate of about USD 50,000 per month now. Jade Magnet was a part of TiE EAP (this support helped us raise seed capital of USD 100,000), was selected by Business Today magazine among India’s Hottest Startups in 2010 and was selected by TiE among India’s Top 4 startups in the TiE ecosystem in December 2010. Jade Magnet was also recognized as the most innovative startup at the Global Technology Summit 2011 in heart of the Silicon Valley, CA, and was also a part of the TiE Global Annual Report for 2010-11. With over 4,000 creatives on the platform Jade Magnet has served close to 400 clients in last 18 months across various industries for the design of logos and business cards, brochures, websites, ad creatives in print and digital format, animations, jingles and virals etc.

Small and Medium Businesses struggle to get the right kind of creative people (agencies or freelancers) to work for them. There are expectation mismatches as far as creativity is concerned, as well as pricing constraints that SMBs have to deal with. Large agencies which are well-known for their quality seldom take up work from SMBs because of price issues. Jade Magnet aggregates creative energies of thousands of people and offers them at “client defined prices”. So clients get more options to choose from, creative ideas from multiple sources, fewer iterations … and all this in budgets that they themselves define. Overall, Jade Magnet brings down the time spent on designing a creative solution by almost 50-60%. This improves productivity by ensuring that less time is spent of iterating for the right design. It also lowers prices to fit into client budgets.
How is the project unique?
Crowdsourcing is set to redefine the way businesses operate. By 2020, more than 60% of an average company’s workforce will be working on a project-to-project basis – hopping in and hopping out of the company as needed. Jade Magnet is working on mastering the delivery of creative work in a such an environment by focusing on process definition, quality assurance and workforce motivation. At Jade Magnet, we are a Platform-As-A-Service company with the platform possessing features to get creative work delivered efficiently. The platform is backed by analytics to track customer behavior. Jade Magnet offers the entire creative ecosystem on a platter. Existing business are constrained by their geo-cultural presence and the expertise of their team of people. But Jade Magnet has access to a huge network of creative resources and also has tie-ups with ad networks, printers/publishers, media space owners across media and this covers the last mile problems that a lot of agencies do not address.
Roadmap
Strategies for the next 3 years: – Aggressive growth in US, Middle East, Singapore/Hong Kong and UK – Deployment of multiple co-branded or white-label platforms in the above markets in collaboration with local businesses and SME associations – Growth of the creative provider base in countries like China, Indonesia and Philippines. Current provider base stands at about 4,000 people spread across India, US, Brazil, Argentina and Russia.
