Description

The Citizen’s Voice (Nagorik Kontho) Web Portal is an internet-based platform (based on Ushahidi) that is equipped to receive citizens’ opinions and reports via a range of options using mobile phones and the web. Citizens can now participate in quality of public service reporting by sending their text, video, or voice messages from mobile phones, or directly uploading them to the portal via web.

What do we deliver?

News and Information and a platform for communication between the public service providers and the general citizens who use them.

Whom we deliver?

The target users of the web portal are: Different public service providers (municipalities, upazilla parishads, directorates, local government offices, hospitals, etc.) Journalist & Media (local and national level) Client of the specific services (citizens and communities, for example, civil society members, youth groups, cultural organizations, academics, etc.

How is the project unique?

This is a much needed but a rare project in Bangladesh where citizen can express their opinion freely on public services issues like corruption, lack of infrastructure etc. And there is an effort in this project to include the service providers opinion so communication between both the parties can happen for development.

Roadmap

We will be launching the next phase of the project sometime during the end of this year which will have coverage in more areas of Bangladesh.
