Description
A social science portal, pan Asian and India centric set up with the objective of creating a dissemination platform for social science research in and on India and Asia, especially for young scholars and research students, and to facilitate discourse across the academic-civil society-policy divide. Its particular objective is to enhance the quality of social science research by encouraging its engagement with the social and economic reality and to enhance the quality of policy making with an evidence base.

Our interactivity will be enhanced with the start of virtual seminar formats. eSS looks to being a virtual academy of social sciences in this region
Why is the project unique?
Nowhere else can social scientists access research material published not only from university departments but in institutions of excellence and in NGO research institutions at no cost. There is no other site that offers open peer reviewing without prejudice or making distinctions among the social sciences, age of scholars and so on. In a short time, eSS will also be the only portal that will give one-stop access to all academic opportunities relating to social sciences across the world.
Roadmap
Seamless availability of digital content is the key not just for development but for democratic institutions to be strengthened. Knowledge eSS believes, is indeed power. For young scholars to be able to reach out to scholars without the via media of ideologically or otherwise biased environments is a energising experience and leads to more open sharing of knowledge not just among scholars but among those who for centuries have been the ‘subjects’ of social science research, the people at large.
