MobiGo
Description
MobiGo is a free location based mobile application that gives information on events, offers and promotions near the user. The application promotes local commerce by taking its visibility to the entire catchment at a fraction of traditional media’s cost. Also, it is India’s first non intrusive and consumer driven advertising solution for companies wishing to communicate their offers, promotions, events, launches etc. On the user front, MobiGo is positioned as a savings and information application that allows users to access traders, shopkeepers and merchants within their neighborhoods.
What we deliver
To users we deliver information that results in both savings and convenience (as it is location based). To merchants we provide visibility within the catchment area at a much lower cost than other communication media and without getting intrusive (so no unsolicited text messages or tele-marketing calls).
Whom we deliver
Over 2,600 users across India are using our application. More than 100 merchants have registered on the portal within one month of the project completion.
Why is the project unique?
MobiGo is an application that saves time and money of the users and provides an increased visibility to a merchant without costing him a fortune. Users have an access to offers, promotions, events etc at any time and anywhere. Even if GPS doesn’t work, user can browse the offers on a city basis. The application works on an accessible technology. Easy sorting, map view, and virtual merchant tour can considerably reduce pre-shopping time and efforts and replace it with quality leisure time with family and friends.
Roadmap
We strongly believe that a meaningful content can be delivered to masses if: a) Content/App is developed on accessible technology (runs on cheap and/or aspirational handsets) b) Local language support; and c) Operator support in delivery of the content in an accurate and speedy manner. In our case, an operator can provide low priced non-GPS phones with cell tower triangulation support
