SMS based Flight Information
Description
The real-time flight information system is SMS based flight information system in collaboration with Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA), Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN). The SMS system interfaces with the Flight Information Display System (FIDS) to poll flight information when requested by mobile subscribers via SMS and responds with the flight detail like flight number, estimated, actual and scheduled arrival/departure time and the status like boarding, check-in, delayed, landed, etc.
What we deliver?
Flight information / status of international and domestic flights flying in and out of Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) is provided to mobile subscribers via SMS.
Why is the project unique?
The SMS flight information idea in itself is not unique and has been implemented in other countries, but this is the first of its kind in Nepal with direct integration to the Flight Information Display System of Tribuwan International Airport.
