Description

With manpower cost and real estate prices in cities escalating at an exponential rate the profit margins for business process outsourcing firms are beginning to see a sharp decline. To save on capital expenditure and reduced operational costs, BPO players in India are now looking to begin operations in rural areas. Rural BPOs hold the promise of viable and cost effective outsourcing business and SourcePilani, founded in 2007, is one of the first enterprises to begin operations in a rural area. Located in Rajasthan, one of India’s poorest states, the unique business model leverages low cost stable talent and inexpensive infrastructure, to create employment, empower women and bring rural India into the mainstream economy.

What we deliver

SourcePilani delivers its customers back offices services that range from medical transcription (for the US healthcare sector), social media outsourcing and other internet related services (for B2C clients), transaction processing for the BFSI segment and regional language voice service for the telecom sector.

Whom we deliver

SourcePilani has consciously made an entry at several levels of the BPO chain of services. This is to ensure that the SourcePilani brand is associated with value addition, quality and ability to deliver what is promised with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) on par with urban counterparts. SourcePilani is positioned as a sensible choice for Indian/International Corporations and Government, which offers value for money and also gives the corporate the “feel good” factor of participating in Rural Transformation. Future strategies may include an upward stretch, to the target clientele, when language and voice abilities become better and competitive. The business could also do a downward stretch to make options available to village youth with lower skills.

Why is the project unique?

SourcePilani is unique in the sense that it leverages low cost stable talent and inexpensive infrastructure available in rural India to provide quality back office services at an unmatched price. We call this empowered outsourcing.

Roadmap

Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) have been recognized as powerful tools for bridging digital divide, empowering rural people and creating livelihood opportunities in various regions across the globe. ICT applications have played an important role and have been instrumental in providing education and training, job and income opportunities, access to markets, information related to economic activities, and a range of citizen services. With ICTs, physical borders decimate and information is transferred through the digital medium that is fast, convenient, commercially viable and less controlled as compared to other existing mass media. ICTs have made it possible to trade, what has long been locked upon within national boundaries: skills, talent, ideas and enterprise. Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), one of the largest growing business segments of the present times emerged out of ICTs and has led to the development of new business models and applications. The connectivity offered by ICTs help outsourcing companies to access talent pool available in any part of the world. This has lead ICTs to become the biggest driver for BPO business. With geographical boundaries dissolving with ICTs, no distance is too big now. This provides opportunities to entrepreneurs or enterprises to grow their delivery centers in any geographical region in the form of a BPO unit.
