Description

Jayasri Radio commenced operations on the 1st of July, 2009 and was welcome by Sri Lankans all over the world as a sister organization of the most popular Tharunaya.com web site. Jayasri is conducted at a location in Piliyandala, Sri Lanka and broadcasted to the entire world with the technical expertise and support of Tharunaya organization. Jayasri Radio is broadcasted not only on www.jayasriradio.com but it is broadcasted during 24 hours of the day on www.tharunaya.com, www.elabonga.com, www.tv.lk, www.one.lk, www.soyuriya.com, www.hadawatha.com as well as on www.lakhiru.com. Although, technical support of tharunaya organization is received, I wish to emphasize that Jayasri is an independent organization conducted by me. Jayasri Radio was introduced by me, Sri Nimal Padmakumara, a radio and TV announcer, teledrama artist and a writer. My dream was to create a radio channel with the national identity conducted in correct “Sinhalese Language ” maintaining “Our original Sinhalese voice ” and “out culture” in order to reach the fellow Sri Lankans living all over the world. All these experience gained by me has paved way for the success of Jayasri Radio and it enabled me to introduce the caption “The Internet Radio which is bring real Sri Lankan heritage and sound ”. Although, there are web radios working 24 hours a day broadcasting a chain of songs, it is with humble proudness I say that Jayasri is the only internet radio broadcasted from Sri Lanka from 8.00 a.m. till about midnight with live announcement providing miscellaneous programmes and songs on request. A large number of listeners who join the live programme “Jayasri Evening” requesting songs of their choice is a good example that Jayasri listeners who go on “skype” are given the option to send birthday greetings and to request for songs while on skype. Another good example is that on all Wednesdays from 10.00 p.m. to 1.00 a.m. listeners can join live On Air programme while on skype to the join live Dhamma discussion.

Why is the project unique?

Yes. I think my project is unique as I mentioned above , we are having much of live programs and recorded programs but not a pre-scheduled play list from morning to evening. We are web casting a song request program “Jayasri evening” Mon – Fri at 2.00pm to 5.00pm live, and hundreds of listeners are participating in this program through all over the world. We have a LIVE DHAMMA DISCUSSION on every Wednesday at night from 10.30 pm to 01.30 MN . This Dhamma Discussion is led by Ven. Karuwalagaswewa Anuruddha Thero in Zurich, Switzerland with the participation of Ven Walpola Kalyanatissa Thero, Zurich, Switzerland and Ven. Halyele Wimalarathana Thero in Geneva, Switzerland – and Buddhist devotees from Abudabhi, Austria, Italy, German and Sri Lanka. I believe that this is the only live Buddhist programme which Lecturers get online from various places of the world.

And also help to Private Sector to develop our country and bring highest level of economy. And they appreciate who are developing e- societies through the competition like e-swabhimani every year.
